Paediatric Formulations
We've Done A Lot's, Let's Check Some Our Recent Research
We thrive to fill the vacuum of lack of paediatric dosage forms of existing generic products by formulating age adapted and taste-masked dosage forms suitable for children which include elixirs, syrups, suspensions, dispersible tablets. Paediatrics are a special population which has been neglected in terms of dosage forms and strengths.
It has been well established that children are not small adults but rather a distinct and heterogeneous patient group with regard to pharmacotherapy. Majority of drugs are aimed at adults in the solid dosage form e.g. capsules, tablets and caplets. For children, the administration of these dosage forms is a challenge because of its large size, poor palatability and lack of dosage strength.
In developing countries paediatric dosages are generally compounded from the adult dosage forms. These compounded formulations have no stability data and are not palatable for this special population. Paediatric formulations must allow accurate administration of the dose to children of widely varying age and weight and this is what we endeavour to do.
